Become a Certified Trained Chaplain (BCC) - Chaplaincy Training Institute

Some emergency services agencies often require prior experience or training before they hire a volunteer chaplain or full-time chaplain. Other chaplain organizations in both the U.S. and Canada use our training to train their own chaplains. Now you have access to our 30-hour online training program. If you prefer a group setting, we have authorized instructors throughout the United States who can provide you with a more personal experience in which you will train with other cohorts. As a student, you'll learn the fundamentals of chaplaincy, covering topics like crisis intervention, end-of-life care, and supporting children in crisis. You'll also discover how to deliver death notifications and work with individuals who are suicidal. In addition, you'll explore Para-Linguistic Communication, which involves understanding body language to grasp what people think during difficult times.
